Environmental group meeting

Posted on

planetWe had our first meeting of the Environmental action group in Winter Park last night.  Nine attendees were there discussing action plans against the relentless and continuous assault on our earth coming from the Republican administration.  It won’t be an easy fight and we’ll all have to contribute in our own special way–young, old, all party affiliations.  The Sierra Club has a long track record of environmental stewardship and we discussed ideas from their legislative training session the past weekend.  Some wanted to get involved with shepherding certain bills in the 2017 session and others wanted to get involved locally with their city governments.  A couple of attendees were teachers at local universities and suggested they’d like to involve their students in sustainability projects.

With the insane news about Scott Pruitt becoming the head of the EPA and Florida’s Rep. Gaetz launching a bill to abolish the EPA it’s obvious our lives won’t be the same for some time.  We’re at war with evil forces that care nothing about ruining our planet for their own greedy purposes.  As an infamous twitterer said many times, SAD!

Glad to read this summary-looks like the meeting was productive. Is there a next step we can follow-up with?
